A Note About Gender Identity and Inclusion
We want to highlight that anytime we use the word "girl" or "girls" it is inclusive of any child that identifies as a girl, non-binary, or gender expansive.
According to the Women's Sports Foundation girls stop playing sports for many reasons such as lack of access to opportunities, social stigma and pressure, decrease in quality of experiences, few positive role models and female coaches, and lack of confidence.
We have witnessed this first hand while raising our own daughters, where opportunities for girls over the age of ten to engage with sports dwindle significantly - and it's not because the girls don't want to play - THEY DO! So we created the space for them to play.
OUR MISSION
Fast Break Philly is dedicated to inspiring and empowering girls through sports. We create a supportive environment where girls can thrive regardless of their experience level. Our focus is on creating opportunities for girls to play while fostering confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. Fast Break is a community where girls can grow, learn, and and find joy in sports.
