WHERE GIRLS BELONG

According to the Women's Sports Foundation girls stop playing sports for many reasons such as lack of access to opportunities, social stigma and pressure, decrease in quality of experiences, few positive role models and female coaches, and lack of confidence.

We have witnessed this first hand while raising our own daughters, where opportunities for girls to learn a new sport or just play for fun dwindle significantly after third grade. It's not because the girls don't want to play - experience has shown us they do!

So we did something about it. We created Fast Break Philly and with it, the Girls Belong Foundation, a 501(c)3 that powers the Fast Break Philly programs. We want girls to know that there is a place where they can learn a new sport, build skills in a sport they already know, or just come and play for fun in a low-pressure environment. All girls and gender-expansive youth are welcome and everyone BELONGS!

We want to highlight that our programs are open to any child that identifies as a girl, nonbinary, or gender expansive.

Fast Break Philly, a program by the Girls Belong Foundation, is dedicated to inspiring and empowering girls through sports. We create a supportive environment where girls can thrive regardless of their experience level. Our focus is on creating opportunities for girls to play while fostering confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. Fast Break is a community where girls can grow, learn, and find joy in sports.
